Some Heads Up Thoughts

Between eye surgery and online poker tournaments, my blog has suffered from extreme neglect during the month of July. The blistering Nevada desert heat causes some lethargy and ennui.

Almost daily, I play a variety of online poker tournaments ranging from one table $20 sit and go NL games, to massive 6000 person freeroll tournaments, while attempting to qualify for a WPT event. I've won many single tables and placed quite high in the larger events. I've also won larger NL tournaments with small buy-ins yielding nice top prize money. For example, I won the "Parrot" No-limit $5.00 buy in tourney yesterday and collected $525 top prize. Not a bad return on my money! In many of these events, both large and small, I often find myself in a short- handed game, or even better heads-up for the top prize. I've observed that while many good players can reach the final table, few understand the changes required to be a good short- handed or heads-up player. The following link takes you to a short article by the Hendon mob from Britain. Their ideas Should help your short handed game. Don't use these tips against me! :-)
