A Poker Book
In reviewing David Skalansky's Tournament Holdem For Advanced Players, several outstanding ideas present themselves that will help the average player improve his or her tournament play. As a serious player, I have greatly benefitted by using some of Skalansky's concepts. His "gap" concept, his NL system, his ideas on short stack play and several other ideas have given me some small edges that have allowed me to reach many final tables and win a few tournaments. If you want to improve your Texas Hold'em tournament play, I highly recommend this book. Parts of this book are mathematical and technical, but many of Skalansky's ideas are easy to understand and will allow you to play at a higher level. With so many new people entering this game, we need all of the small edges that we can get to become winners! It's a good read!
