Friday the 13th Luck

I'm not superstitious, but I sure had bad luck in the Oasis Friday the 13th Tournament of Champions last night. The tournament had a great prize structure with lots of opportunities to win some serious cash. I was card-dead most of the night and never seriously contended for the the money. I didn't see a flop during the first half of the contest and felt more like a spectator than a participant. After the break, I was involved in only three pots and finally went out 17th when Reece outdrew my all-in pocket 7's with pocket 10's and rivered a full house. It simply wasn't my night, and I was a little disappointed because I failed to reach the final table. This was a well-run event, with great money and solid participants. I enjoy playing against better players and testing my poker skills, but I was outplayed on this unlucky Friday the 13th. Maybe there is something to the bad luck superstitions for this day!
