9 to 5

I smile when I peek at my hold'em pocket cards and see a 9 and a 5, suited or unsuited. I think of that sexy little Dolly Parton in the movie of the same name (9 to 5) and I chuckle. Last evening, 9s5s blessed me on the button. I usually play this hand in an unraised pot, in deference to Dolly, to see the Flop. Although it's an irrational move, I do it anyway. I guess I just love saying on the River "I've got a Dolly Parton" when I win the Showdown. It's been a lucky hand for me. Yesterday was no different. A nine and a five flopped and a 9 came on the River giving me a full-house winner!! The next time you see half of this little country singer in your hand, give it a try, she just might bring you a little luck!
